Focused Observation #1 SETTING To gain insight and knowledge from your field experience, your observations must be careful, analytical, and deliberate. Once you have made your observations, you need to consider carefully what you have seen and relate to what you have learned in this class. Copy and paste this form into a Word file to complete. Turn in field notes with your report. The observation report is due a week after the visit. Describe the students Talking patterns in the room Interruptions Transitions Materials (texts, manipulatives, books, writing and drawing materials) Teaching equipment Technology Centers · Make a sketch of the classroom (and anything you find of interest)· The focus of this observation is the setting, but make sure to note any teaching approaches or learning events that relate to issues discussed in this course.· Write questions you have about what you observe or do not observe in the classroom.
