At Middle
and Secondary levels spelling should be taught, but with individualization.
Some students will have more difficulty with spelling than others.
Help the students who have difficulty learn to use strategies to spell as
well as possible and to take care to proofread written work for spelling
errors and correct them. All students at these levels should study the
etymology of words they encounter and use in their studies.
