Research Proposal

Your research proposal should be a one to two page paper that describes your fully-planned research study. The purpose of the proposal is to cause you to focus your study and to inform your instructor of your plans.  Normally, the literature review is included in a research proposal, but since you completed your lit review last term, it is not necessary to include it here. However, it is best to make some reference to your findings in the literature to support your proposal.

  • Make it interesting.
  • Use Inspiration to create a structure for your proposal.
  • Use APA style and be certain that all grammar and punctuation is correct. Use clear headings and subheadings.
  • If you have instruments or permission forms completed, attach them and submit them with the proposal. Turn in the graphic organizer and the paper.

This outline is intentionally vague as there is no one outline that is right for every study. You will need to find a structure that works best for YOUR proposal.
